Tell the supplier whether the request concerns a lid, drain plug, pipe union or housing connection. If you already have a diagram for the correct model, include the callout and ask for the orderable part number; the diagram number alone may not be it.
Avoid choosing by stretch or appearance
Keep an old removed ring for comparison if available, but ask for a reference-based match. Do not substitute a visually similar ring without confirmation of its intended application. Ask the installer about any preparation materials needed for the specified replacement.
