01

Do not strip out the surrounding specifications

Copy the horsepower and service-factor fields with their labels, along with voltage, frame and model. If a listing uses different terminology, ask the seller to explain the comparison for your exact pump rather than interpreting marketing labels yourself.

02

Ask for the proposed reference

A written quote should identify the supplied motor, not only say “equivalent power.” Ask whether related components and installation need to change. PoolCore does not select an impeller, approve a power increase or calculate a universal replacement from these numbers.

READY FOR THE CONVERSATION

What to have ready

  • HP and SF fields without omitted decimals
  • Original reference and proposed reference
  • Written explanation of any specification difference

A common question

Should I upgrade horsepower during replacement?

Request a system-specific assessment before changing the specification. A replacement request does not establish that an increase is appropriate.

MAKE YOUR REQUEST SPECIFIC

A useful starting message

The label shows HP [value] and SF [value]. Please identify the correct motor reference and explain any differences in your proposal.

Replace the bracketed details with your equipment information. The request is reviewed by you before it is saved.
